Has anyone had work cause labor? More info……….?

I wanna clean the outside of my house, stack wood, pick up my boys toys, straighten things up…….. Nothing too heavy, but it may be a bit strainuous. I work full time as a waitress in a very busy rest., also walk to work everyday, so you could say I’m used to hard work. I just want to know if anyone has had any experiences.
Please do not tell me to let it go, I’ve nasted everything I can nest on the inside of my home and need something to do.
I’m 37 weeks and he is arriving by c-section on the 16th.
I thought it waas a good idea, till I was out there for @ 1/2 hr., way too cold. Besides thats why I have 3 other little boys. Chores are good for them!

I bought my daughter a Step 2 Big Folding Slide from Toys R Us for her to play in the backyard. I am now reading the manual and it says to use either wood chips or shredded/recycle rubber 9 in deep and 6.5 feet around slide to prevent injury if she was to fall. Does anyone assemble playsets on soft grass?

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter who eats everything. Hard plastic off of toys, she chews the wood off the crib, she eats wires, grass, dirt, poop (her own), books, paper, remote controls, dvd cases, hair, her own clothes, my leather couch, pretty much anything, she even chews off her finger nails and toe nails when nothing is available… is this just a phase or a cause for concern? I’ve spanked her butt everytime I catch her in the act and made with the loud scolding but she really doesn’t seem to care. I even tried the Nanny 911 crap with the "this is not acceptable" speech and a timeout, nada. And if I try childproofing something, she finds something else to eat, like the carpet (lol, that didn’t sound right) or furniture. Everything is edible apparently. I put tabasco on the crib when she was chewing the wood off, and she still ate it. I’ve gave her jalapenos and she likes them. I guess she has an iron stomach or something. I’m lost on this…

Two story home with open balcony. Dangerous for kids?

We live in a two-story home with a balcony that is open to the hard tiled foyer. The wood railed banister is a standard height. I am worried that my kids might decide it would be fun to try to climb over it or (may God forbid) try repelling or jumping down. Is this a legitimate worry or am I scaring myself over nothing? My son is under 2 and is already piling toys up next to it and climbing. Obviously he is always supervised right now, but what happens when he is older and in a bed he can get out of? I know some people suggest gating the kids room, which would be fine for a year or so, but I am sure he’ll figure out how to climb that before long. Our bedroom is downstairs and both children’s rooms are up! I am seriously considering selling and buying a single story. Has anyone ever actually heard of kids hurting themselves in a situation like this? (No details please.) I am just trying to figure out if we should really consider moving.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas on things you can MAKE for your nursery. I really want my babies nursery to have a "personal" touch to it. Plus it’s cheaper this way.

Here are the ideas and projects I already have:
Toy box
Wood hangers- but painted
Maybe some curtains
Quilt/blankets
Receiving blankets (You have to sew the ends)
Maybe a couple of teddy bears

IF it helps, baby is having a celestial themed room

i am 18 with 3 kids age 4,3,1 and pregnunt. why all every body talks about here is shit about welfare and single and teen being wrong. i am all 3. my kids are fine. i start home depot in 2 weeks so i just be getting food stamps and medicaid. the 4 year old pup is still going around and around and around because i did never take up james on his offer. i just wait till 9pm and go with my nephew to receive the wubzie toy. my son just started brushing his teeth. its okay that he use crest from the dollar store. i sdone stopped giving them pepsi in thier bottles and stoped giving the pup pepsi. but the hampster started noring away at the cats tail.
why did they hate single moms and teen moms. after i have my baby i will stop, but how do i make sure to have nomore without no pills.
and why would they cut the cable when they know how much the 4 year old pup has to wach wubzie? why? what to do with no wubzie again tonite?

He is my step-son and visits during the summer. I live in Arizona, where it gets up to 116 degrees while he is here. So, there isnt much we can do outside while he is here. I also have a 15 month old daughter. She still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. I have to be soo very careful about what falls on the floor, and what is accessible to her. We like to have "Christmas" when he gets here, since we only see him during the summer. I just dont know what to buy for him. He is brilliantly smart. Smart in an adult way. Emotionally he is still a boy. He doesnt like the typical boy toys (skate-boards, dirt-bikes, rough/tough type toys). He likes crafty things- Sand art, paints, wood-working, making necklaces/bracelets to give as gifts etc. He is more inventive, hands-on, creative and loves board games. We try to entertain him, but with a little one and being limited to staying indoors, I need for him to be able to play independently (and enjoy it). He likes the cooking channel-please help!

concerning the children put into my care. Am feeling extremely concerned 4 some of the children being placed in my care and am feeling very emotional (privately) when dealing with some of their issues. 1 girl, who is available for adoption and has blown 2 adoptions and 6 placements, while manipulative, showed some promise of having a really good heart, and needing a strong foster, abused beyond anything I can even fathom, is a strong and resilent child, yet, I see the damage. Is there any real hope for change? She is generous (puts money in the poor box, buys toys for other children, etc) and in general, very kind. When I took her back to the group home, cried all the way home. 2nd visit knew she needed more help than what she is getting. What do I do 2 help her & others that are coming into my care, to make sure they are getting the care they need and deserve? What can I do to be what they need? Any advice from any foster parents wood be greatly appreciated! Or should know?

Remember the toy that had pegs in a ‘table’ and you had a hammer and pounded them down. And flipped the table and didit again? Mostly made of wood some made from plastic. What are these toys called and where can I find one? I want to buy one for my son but can’t for the life of me find it anywhere. Thanks!

Formaldehyde dangerous to breath? Is it harmful when pregnant?

I recently bought a dresser and a wood toy box for my daughter. After taking the pieces out of both boxes I noticed a very strong smell coming the parts. I looked on the side of the box and it said formaldehyde so I am guessing this is what the strong smell is. Is this substance harmful to breath? My daughter is almost 2. When I go i her room in the morning after her door has been closed all night the smell is so strong I have to plug my nose. I am also pregnant and worried that this could be dangerous to my unborn babies health. Please help!
